Hi, I'm Dr Tatiana Herzog I'm a dentist here in Miami, Florida. Today we're going to be talking a little bit about what the cost of dental implants are.

That's a great question and it's sort of like saying, "How much does a car cost?" Okay, so it all depends. Once again, it depends on how many implants and what the purpose of the implants are. Just take an example. Some people need implants that are basically root replacements that go down in and help hold or support teeth. 

So the simplest type would be implants that go down into the jaw and support a denture. It gives it some support. You can have two implants and you may be paying anywhere from $1,500 for a single implant, to $2,000 for an implant, ballpark. That does not include any of the fixtures above it or anything else that holds the teeth in.

Another type of implant basically, is type that supports a free-standing tooth or so the person that has just a missing tooth in the front may have a single implant right up there. Now you're going to have to pay for the implant and for the piece that goes into it and for the crown on top of that. If you need grafting materials, et cetera, you may be looking at closer to 3,500 to $4,000 for that implant.

So it all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. Of course, if you had a whole mouthful of implants, trying to replace multiple teeth, you're into much more money. And so basically, like I said, how much does a car cost? Sometimes if you look at restoring the whole mouth, you're into the payment for a car. The one good thing about that is it will probably last you longer than that car will.
