Why Dental Implants Are a Great Choice

Single Tooth Replacement Services in Miami, FL

A dental implant is a surgical element that connects with the bone of the jaw or skull in order to support a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis, or to act as an anchor in the jaw.

A single tooth replacement is an ideal solution for replacing a missing tooth. There are several options when it comes to single tooth replacements which include dental implants, fixed bridges, or resin-retained bridges.

Reasons Why Dental Implants Are a Great Choice

Dental implants offer practical solutions for those who can no longer wear removable dentures. Also, for people who have broken or decayed teeth that might be beyond repair. In this modern world, replacing a missing tooth is more beneficial in comparison to other options. A few benefits you can expect from opting for single tooth replacement services include:

Improved facial appearance. Dental implants feel and function like natural teeth. You can't tell the difference between a natural tooth and one supported by a dental implant.

Preserved dental bone. Dental implants preserve natural tooth tissue, reduce bone deterioration and loss of bone jawbone height. By preserving the bone, the stability of other natural teeth is maintained, and so is the size and shape of your jaw and facial structure.

Improved oral health. Dental implants help reduce periodontal diseases, which if left unchecked and allowed to worsen can lead to chronic diseases like diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Regular checkups and routine maintenance will go a long way in maintaining your health at its best.

Enhanced overall quality of life. With dental implants, your mouth functions in a more natural way. This will eliminate the fears and worries that you might have. With time, you will see improvements in many areas of your life like:

  • Improved eating habits
  • Restored self-esteem
  • Renewed self-confidence
  • Comfort in everyday situations
  • Improved oral health
  • Fewer worries about adhesives, metal clasps, and bridges

Durability and reliability. When well taken care of, dental implants will last for many years without causing you any problems. In the long run, a dental implant is more aesthetically pleasing and easy to keep clean.

What To Expect

When it comes to single tooth replacement, the procedure is relatively simple. Below outlines the step-by-step process a professional will utilize when applying your dental implants:

Initial consultation. The first step to any dental intervention is assessing the patient, and looking at the options. You and your dentist will sit down and decide what you are looking to accomplish, what your options are, and which one best suits your needs and wants. This also includes looking at eligibility: Is your jawbone strong enough to withstand a single tooth replacement?

Tooth extraction. Once a single-tooth replacement has been decided as the chosen route to replace missing/chipped teeth, the process can really begin. Our staff will then make an appointment to first extract the remnants of your tooth if the area where the implant is supposed to go is not already cleared.

Drilling the rods. Once the area is cleared, the titanium post can be inserted into your jawbone.

Healing time. After the post has been put into your jawbone, you will be given time to heal. The healing process takes about two to three months.

Additions. Once your jaw has healed, your dentist will go back in and expose the tooth replacement. A crown will then be added, which will create the appearance of a natural tooth. Your dentist creates this crown by taking a molding of your entire mouth and making the tooth based on this molding.

Enjoy your single-tooth replacement! Implants typically last for about 20 years, if not more. This means you can go back to eating and talking with the support you need!
