How to Clean Invisalign

Implant Center of Miami • Oct 11, 2019

Cleaning your Invisalign trays is an important process to maintain the products effectiveness You can purchase a product from Invisalign's website, which are crystals placed in water to clear your aligners. Remember, your aligners should be in your mouth for approximately 22 hours a day, meaning that you will not be placing your Invisalign aligners in any solution overnight.

What's the best way to clean my trays?

The best way is to soak your aligners. You can use official Invisalign cleaning crystals or even denture cleaning options to clean your trays. Make sure to brush and floss before reinserting your trays and always rinse them as well. Do not use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean your trays because you will cause scratches in the trays, which will cause them to stain.

For a deeper clean, you can mix lukewarm water with mild dish soap. Do not ever use hot water to clean your trays. This can cause the trays to deform. If necessary, use a cotton swab or a Q-tip to get into the deeper grooves of the tray.

Thank you so much for reading, as always, it is important to remember to stay consistent with your cleanings to fully optimize the functionality of Invisalign and guarantee the smile you've always dreamed of.
