Dr. Richard Valera has always loved learning and is passionate about continuing to expand his knowledge and specialties in dentistry. Born in Havana, Cuba and growing up in Belle Glade, Florida, Dr. Valera is proud to call Florida home. He completed his undergraduate degree at Florida International University and studied dentistry at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Valera joined Implant Center of Miami at the Sunrise location to provide a comprehensive and first class experience for his patients with a state of the art facility. About Dr. Richard Valera

As a licensed dentist, Dr. Valera loves the art of dentistry and strives to become an expert in all areas of dental care. He finds full mouth rehabilitation especially rewarding, and enjoys seeing the transformation of a patient’s smile from beginning to end. He is experienced in cosmetic dentistry, root canals, surgery, and more. He is always seeking to take continuing education courses and has completed courses in BOTOX®, fillers, clear aligners, implant placement, and more.

From the first moment of meeting a patient through the treatment planning phase and the execution of care, Dr. Valera is passionate about connecting with his patients. He enjoys the challenge of meeting the unique needs of every patient and finding opportunities for growth in every difficulty. Dr. Valera is inspired by his family, especially his father, who instilled in him the belief that he should strive to be his best at whatever he pursues. He is extremely motivated by his peers in the dental industry and is thrilled to be able to work with such dedicated professionals.

Dr. Valera is a member of Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and the Florida Dental Association (FDA), as well as dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon. When he’s not expanding his dental knowledge, Dr. Valera enjoys sports, particularly as a fan of the Miami Heat, as well as working out and the beautiful south Florida weather.

See some of the work Dr. Richard Valera has recently done with patients in Sunrise Florida. Dr. Richard Valera's advantage is utilizing the resources and technology at Implant Center of Miami to get an oversight of the smile makeover customization process to reduce turnaround times, and to deliver better access to resources for patients after their care.

This special patient came to Dr. Richard Valera with 8 implants placed years ago with another surgeon. Seeing areas of opportunity both in cosmetics and function, her teeth were restored to ideal contours following her lips and opposing dentition. A natural shade was chosen to blend in with her smile.

A misaligned bite can be caused by loss of baby and adult teeth, improper restorations, and or pressure on the teeth and gums. Dr. Richard Valera's most recent patient was given a complete smile makeover using crowns providing a more ideal occlusion through fixed prosthetics. This bite correction improved the patients ability to eat, oral health, and confidence.

An uneven bite can cause muscle strain when doing normal activities such as chewing or talking. Dr. Richard Valera's most recent patient went through a smile makeover focusing on a bite correction using a combination of dental implants and crowns. The idea was to open the bite and widen the top arch to give a more functional result, as well as a natural more masculine appearance.

Dr. Richard Valera's most recent patient had an accident and fractured her upper four front teeth. Dr. Richard Valera was able to restore her original smile using e-max crowns after providing a comprehensive approach. What started as a consultation ended with her clear natural smile.
